Kidd files brief urging U.S. Supreme Court to overturn decision removing Trump from ballot
Larry Kidd, a conservative Republican running for the Second Congressional District of Ohio, personally filed a Friend of the Court (Amicus Curiae) brief in the U.S. Supreme Court case to keep Donald Trump’s name on the ballot. Kidd is a Trump supporter and was a member of the official Ohio Trump Delegation to the 2020 Republican National Convention.
“Democrat Justices on the Colorado Supreme Court launched a dangerous attack on democracy when they removed Donald Trump from the Presidential ballot,” Larry Kidd said. “I’m proud to have endorsed Donald Trump for President and I’m even prouder to personally file this brief in the Supreme Court to undo this travesty and let the people choose their president.”
The brief was written by two Ohio attorneys with deep conservative ties. Larry Obhof, an Ohio conservative icon, Yale Law School graduate, and former President of the Ohio Senate Mark Wagoner, a former member of the Ohio House, Ohio Senate, and former Chairman of the Lucas County Republican Party. “Too many people in politics claim they support Donald Trump but refuse to take bold action to defend him against the onslaught of attacks by his partisan opponents who are abusing their government power to interfere with the 2024 election,” Kidd continued. “I decided it was important to step up and do something tangible.”
Larry Kidd is running in the Republican primary to replace Brad Wenstrup, who is retiring from Congress. Kidd is a successful businessman from Jackson County who founded numerous companies, including a staffing business that Kidd started with two employees, which has grown to 400 employees.
Kidd has already contributed more than $700,000 of his own money to his campaign in addition to receiving campaign donations from conservatives across Southern Ohio.
