Meet Larry Kidd
Conservative Republican Larry Kidd is a southern Ohio native and small business owner with three decades of experience helping elect conservatives to office and fighting against the Democrat big government overreach that kills jobs, hurts working families, and violates our U.S. Constitution.
A strong supporter of conservative congressional leaders like Rep. Brad Wenstrup and Rep. Bill Johnson, Larry is running for Congress to continue their legacy of leadership. As President Donald Trump was advancing policies to strengthen our nation, Larry was helping to support the candidates who would help President Trump pass those policies. Larry’s experience as Vice Chairman of his local county Republican Party shows his commitment to our conservative cause.
Larry endorsed Donald Trump for re-election in 2024 and was also proud to be part of the Ohio Trump Delegation for the 2020 Republican National Convention. Remember the Trump years when interest rates were low, the streets were safer, and America was respected and feared around the world? In Congress, Larry will fight to restore those Trump achievements and more.
With hard work in the spirit of American free enterprise, Larry grew his current business from two employees to 400. Now his company works across Ohio — and even in other states — to connect workers with good jobs. As one of the leaders of the nationally acclaimed JobsOhio program, Larry's efforts led to state-of-the-art online resources to assist those in need of work to find a way to earn a respectable living and provide for their families.
Like President Ronald Reagan, Larry is strongly pro-life. He knows that far-left policies pushing for abortion on demand through the ninth month of pregnancy are an evil assault on the most innocent and vulnerable among us.
The United States Constitution is more than just an old piece of parchment to Larry Kidd. When he swears to defend and uphold it, he'll take that oath seriously. That's why he supports the outstanding judges who President Trump appointed to the bench. Larry knows we need judges who will follow the law and respect the Constitution. That’s why he’s been a leader in electing conservatives to the Ohio Supreme Court.
As a Christian, Larry understands that our founding fathers built America as a country where faith and freedom should be the fundamental foundation of society. He knows that our rights don't come from government — they come from God.
Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Joe Biden don't want Larry in Congress because they know he'll be a tireless defender of the right of self-defense and the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Larry is a hunter, concealed carry permit holder, and NRA life member.
Like so many southern Ohio families, the scourge of drug addiction hit close to home for the Kidds. A few years ago, Larry and his wife Cindy helped their son successfully break free from the grasp of this heartbreak. That personal experience, combined with Larry's talent for leadership and bringing people together, earned him an appointment as Chairman of the OneOhio Recovery Foundation, a nonprofit start-up founded with settlement funds from opioid companies. In this role, leading 29 board members, Larry helped advance strategies to counter addiction and developed vital policies, regulations, staffing, software selection, and programs that will change the course of opiate/addiction issues in Ohio.
Larry knows that China is shipping fentanyl to Mexico, where traffickers sneak it across the southern border that Joe Biden refuses to defend. In Congress, he'll use his expertise in drug policy to help stop the flow of drugs into our country while also giving families the support and resources they need to help loved ones trapped in addiction.
Larry was instrumental in helping the Appalachia Partnership generate business growth across 25 counties in Southern Ohio. No candidate has done more to help working men and women in our region find good-paying jobs.
Larry has a strong family bond and remains close to his parents. He understands the struggles so many southern Ohio families face as they guide growing children into adulthood while meeting the needs of their aging parents. That experience was on his mind as he helped coordinate the merger of the nonprofit Holzer Health Systems with a not-for-profit health system, to better meet the healthcare needs of people in our area.
As Chairman of the Rio Grande Community College Board of Trustees, Larry worked closely with higher education leaders to ensure a close partnership with small business owners and Southern Ohio students looking for good jobs. Larry is committed to fighting against the attempts of liberals to inject partisanship, racial politics, and divisive social issues into public schools and colleges. Larry knows that, in order to succeed, students need education, not indoctrination. He’ll stand against injecting critical race theory and other discredited topics that seek to divide.
Larry's wife Cindy is a veterinarian with experience treating large and small animals. She was raised on a dairy farm and is an experienced and renowned horsewoman. Dr. Cindy has loved to ride, breed, and care for horses her entire life. Hundreds of local families turn to Dr. Cindy to help keep their dogs and cats healthy.
Larry and Dr. Cindy are the proud parents of daughter Carly, who works in the tech business, son Alex, who is a restaurant general manager, and son Mitch — a decorated Marine Corps veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan — is a Quality Inspector for the FAA. They have three grandchildren.
Larry and Dr. Cindy have worked with people and projects across Southern Ohio, but they make their home in Jackson. Even when their children and grandchildren aren't around, their house feels full, with many cats and a black lab.
